Kate Price and Riggy Rackin share the stage at Studio E in Sebastopol for a special event
celebrating the release of their respective recordings “Songs from the Witches Woods”
and “Somewhere In Between” which were recorded concurrently at Studio E. They will
be joined by an all star Sonoma County Band featuring Jeff Martin on Bass, Roxanne Oliva on
Accordion, Crumhorn, Harp, backing vocals, Chris Carney on Mandola and vocals, Vic Carberry on
drums, Jon Berger on violin and viola, and Tom Ross on violin.
Songs from the Witches Wood is a retrospective recording of
Kate’s early vocal work.
“Somewhere in Between” is a collection of English Folk Songs, Renaissance Ballads
and Sea Shanties.
This event will be catered by the Himalayan Restaurant.

SOUNDTRACK: The Legend of Secret Pass
The film I worked on last year will finally make it into the theatres this year. It is a beautiful animated film about a Native American boy who becomes the Guardian of the Portal between the worlds. I sing the voice of the Spirit Wind who flies into the boys heart and teaches him the chant that unlocks the gate. When I sang the chant I nearly broke into tears it w as so powerfully beautiful. Peter Kater composed the soundtrack and it was an extraordinary experience to get to work on this film with him. Release date is still undetermined, but it should be soon!

FOOLS Parade 2009
Just in time for my birthday, the fools will again march in Occidental Town. This year’s Parade will happen Saturday April 4 at 2 pm. If you have not yet made it to this event, make it this year. It is a GAS! My entries in the past have been The Lampshade Brigade, The Walking Hottub, The Flock of Fools (I was the 8' dodo bird) and last years Umbrella Ballet. What will I think of next??? Come see for yourself on April 4th! Or better yet, think up a silly group entry for yourself and your friends and come prance with us!

Melissae Ensemble and Gradina
I have returned to my first musical love- Balkan music. About a year ago I joined an 11 voice Balkan choir that is based in Sonoma called Gradina (means garden in Bulgarian.) The music is unbelievably beautiful and singing in an ensemble is a transcendent experience for me. I am also honored to be in a small offshoot of Gradina that performs pre-Christian Bulgarian rituals- talk about transcendent!
